iPay Systems Ltd seeks an experienced Database Administrator for its IT team in Dhaka. The role involves maintaining database integrity, security, and performance while ensuring reliable transaction processing for clients and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize database systems for high availability and performance
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues with timely resolution to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams on database solutions for new projects
  • Perform regular backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization, including query optimization and index maintenance
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging database technologies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to data storage and security
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support when necessary

Qualifications — Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Qualifications — Experience

  • Minimum 3 years as a Database Administrator

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of database management systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar
  • Proficiency in database design, implementation, and optimization
  • Experience with database security practices and principles
  • Solid understanding of SQL and scripting languages
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms
  • Database administration certification (Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator)
