What is iPay?
iPay is a fintech app, licensed as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) by Bangladesh Bank. The purpose of the app is to keep society cashless, make life convenient, and avoid theft.
What are the services provided by iPay?
- Money transfer (add, withdraw, send and request money)
- Physical and online store payments with QR code
- Mobile top-up and recharge
- Utility, ISP, and credit card bill payments
Who is eligible for iPay services?
- Users with a valid NID and bank account
- Users with a mobile number or email address
- Anyone above the age of 18

How do I download iPay?
Follow the steps below to download iPay.
- Open Google Play Store or the App Store
- Search for “iPay-Bangladesh”

How do I sign up for iPay?
Registering with iPay is easy. You can sign up using your mobile number from either the website or the app.
To sign up
- Fill in general information and set a password.
- Enter the OTP code sent to your phone and continue.
- Upload a clear photo of yourself (max 3 MB; JPG or PNG).
- Upload a copy of your NID (max 3 MB; JPG or PNG).
- Fill in basic information.
- Source of fund: provide details of the personal bank account you want to link with iPay.
- Verify: a small amount will be sent to your linked bank account.
- Enter the amount received to verify your iPay account.
What information do I have to provide when creating an account?
Personal account
- Profile picture — clear photo where your face is identifiable
- Basic information — full name, date of birth, occupation
- Family information — parents' names
- Address — present and permanent
- Identification document — scanned copy of NID
- Introducer — at least 2 verified iPay users who know you
- Source of fund — accurate personal banking details
Business account
Business members need to complete the following sections to be verified.
- Profile picture — clear image where the logo is identifiable
- Business information — business name, type, mobile number
- Business contact — name, DOB, occupation, organisation
- Business address — registered address of the business
- Contact address — address of the business contact person

- Merchant Acquisition Form
- NID, passport, or driving licence
Introducer
Business accounts are introduced by the iPay Merchant Acquisition team and a Merchant team lead.
Source of fund
Submit a completed Bank Consent Form.

What type of account should I choose?
iPay supports two types of account.
Personal account
For personal transactions like sending or requesting money to friends and family, mobile top-up, and bill payment.
Business account
Keep your business transactions organised — payments, invoices, and other financial activities in one place.
How do I sign up for a personal account?
- Download the app.
- Tap “Sign Up”.
- Fill in general information and set a password.
- Enter the OTP code sent to your phone.

- Fill in basic information such as name and address.

How do I sign up for a business account?
- Go to ipay.com.bd and select “Sign Up for Business Account”.
- Fill in general information (including business type and designation) and set a password.
- Enter the OTP code sent to your phone and tap Continue.
- Upload a clear photo (max 3 MB; JPG or PNG).
- Upload your NID, Business TIN certificate, Trade Licence, VAT registration, and business logo (max 3 MB each; JPG or PNG).
- Fill in basic information such as name and address.
- Source of fund — provide details of the business bank account you want to link with iPay.
- Verify — a small amount is sent to your linked bank account after 3–5 business days.
- Enter the amount received to verify your iPay business account.
How can I receive payment from clients through an iPay business account?
Business members can request payment from clients through iPay only if those clients also have an iPay account.
Can I change my account type?
No. You cannot change your account type once it has been created.
Can I create both account types with one mobile number?
No. You need a separate mobile number for every account you create on iPay.
Can I create both account types with one National ID Card?
No. You need a separate National ID Card for every account you create on iPay.
How do I link a bank account or add a Source of Fund to my iPay wallet?
- Tap the left panel.
- Tap “Source of Fund”.
- Tap “Link Bank”.
- Tap the plus icon (+) at the bottom right.
- Fill in name and bank details such as account number and branch.
- Tap “Submit”.
- Tap “I Agree”.
- A token amount will be sent to your bank account for verification.
- Once you receive the token, tap the bank logo, select Verify, and enter the amount.
How long does it take to add money to my account?
Banks usually take 3–5 business days to process money added from a bank account or credit card.
Through a Lanka Bangla credit card, money is added instantly.
How do I sign out of my iPay account from the app?
- Tap the left panel of the app screen.
- Scroll down to “Log Out” and tap.
PINs, two-factor authentication, password recovery, and trusted devices.
Security
What is 2FA?
2FA (two-factor authentication) adds an extra layer of security to your account. It is required for performing transactional services.
What is the PIN that is prompted before every transaction?
The PIN is a 4-digit number required before any iPay transaction to keep your account secure.
How do I set the iPay PIN for security?
- Tap “Security” in the left panel of the app.
- Tap “Set Pin”.
- Enter a 4-digit number.
- Enter your current account password.
How do I change my account password?
App
- Tap “Security” from the left panel.
- Tap “Change Password”.
- Fill in current password, new password, and confirm.
- Tap “Save”.
Why do I have to add a password recovery number?
Adding a Trusted Contact for password recovery adds another layer of security to your iPay account.
I do not remember my password. What should I do?
You can either change your password and start anew, or use the password recovery process.
Password recovery
- Tap “Security” from the left panel.
- Tap “Password Recovery”.
- Tap “Security Questions”.
- Fill in 3 questions and answers and enter your current password.
- Tap “Save”.
I cannot remember my current password for the recovery process. What can I do?
If you cannot recall the information needed to retrieve your password, email support@ipay.com.bd or chat with our support team. They will send a password reset link to your primary email address — click it to reset your password.
I do not want to enter the authentication code each time I log in. How can I remove this?
When you log in from your regular device and browser:
- Look for the “Remember Browser” reminder at the top of the page.
- Click “Save” on the far right to add the device to your trusted list.
How do I remove a trusted device from my account?
- Click your profile picture icon at the top right of the login page.
- Open the menu and click “Account & Settings”.
- Click “Security” in the left panel.
- Click the red delete button under “Trusted Devices”.
- Review the device or browser detail and click “Confirm”.

How do I make bill payments?
You can pay your bills directly from your iPay balance.
- Tap “Make Payment” from the app feature list.
- Under Bill Pay, tap the logo of your billing company.
- Fill in details such as card number and amount.
- Enter your iPay PIN.
- Your payment is processed.
How do I make payments for shopping?
- Tap “Make Payment” from the app feature list.
- Tap the merchant outlet from the list, or type the name with branch number.
- Enter your iPay PIN.
- Your payment is processed.
How do I use the QR code for shopping or purchasing online?
- Tap “Scan to Pay”.
- Align the merchant's QR code within the phone frame.
- Enter the amount and your iPay PIN.
- Your payment is successful.

How do I request or receive money from friends?
- Tap “Request Money”.
- Enter the name or phone number of the contact.
- Enter the amount you want to request.
- Tap “Continue”.
- Write a short note.

How do I send money in iPay?
- Tap “Send Money”.
- Select a contact or enter the mobile number.
- Enter the amount.
- Tap “Continue”.
- Enter your iPay PIN and an optional short note.

How do I add money from my bank account to iPay?
- Tap “Add Money”.
- Tap “Bank”.
- Your bank logo and account information will appear.
- Tap your bank account.
- Enter the amount you want to add.
- Tap “Continue”.
- Enter your iPay PIN and tap “Continue”.
- You will receive the amount within 3–5 business days.
How can I use the Add Money feature?
To add money, first link and verify a bank account on your iPay profile.
- Tap “Add Money”.
- Tap “Debit/Credit Card” or “Bank”.
Debit / Credit Card
- Enter the amount — service charge of 2.5% for Visa/Mastercard, 3.5% on Amex.
- Tap “Agree to Proceed”.
- Enter a short note. Money is added instantly.
Bank
- Your bank logo and account information will appear.
- Tap your bank account.
- Enter the amount you want to add.
- Tap “Continue”.
- Enter your iPay PIN and tap “Continue”.
- You will receive the amount within 3–5 business days.
How do I withdraw money from my iPay account?
Withdraw Money lets you transfer your iPay balance back to your bank.
- Tap “Withdraw Money”.
- Tap the bank logo with the account number.
- Enter the amount.
- Tap “Continue”.
- Enter your iPay PIN and an optional short note.
- Tap “Continue”.
When can I transfer money from my bank account?
You can transfer money any time, but only to a verified bank account.
What should I do if there is an error or internet disruption during a bill payment?
Refresh the app or page and restart the process. You can also contact iPay customer care at 16542 or +880 9638 900801, create a support ticket, or email support@ipay.com.bd.

Mobile Top-Up
How do I top-up or recharge a mobile phone with my iPay wallet?
- Tap “Mobile Top-Up” from the iPay main interface.
- Select the network operator.
- Type the phone number, or pick a contact from your phone log.
- Select Prepaid or Postpaid plan.
- Insert the recharge amount.
- Enter your iPay PIN.
Review your history, pending transfers, and cancellations.
Transactions
How do I check my transaction history?
- Tap “Transactions” at the bottom of the app.
- A list of all your transactions will appear.
How can I check for pending transactions?
- Tap “Pending” at the top right of the Transactions section.
- You will see a list of all pending payments.
Can I cancel a transaction request?
No. Once a transaction is processing or processed, it cannot be cancelled.
Edit your basic info, profile photo, and verification status.
Profile
How do I edit my basic info on iPay?
App
There are two ways to edit basic info on the app.
- Tap your profile picture at the top right of the app.
- Tap “Basic Information”.
- Fill in name, DOB, occupation, and gender.
- Tap “Save”.

After logging in to your iPay account:
- Click your profile picture at the far top right.

How do I change my profile picture?
You cannot change your profile picture once your account is verified. If your account is not yet verified, click your profile picture and edit it.
How do I delete my profile picture?
You cannot delete your profile picture once your account is verified.
When will my profile be verified?
Your profile is verified by iPay only when correct details are provided. The process takes 3–5 business days.
Add, search, invite, and remove contacts; understand introducers.
Contacts
How do I search for contacts in iPay?
- Tap the “Contacts” icon at the right of the bottom panel.
- Scroll the list to find your contact.
- Or type a name or number to search.
How do I add contacts to my iPay account?
Website
- Click “Contacts” from the login homepage.
- Click “Add Contact” at the top right.
- A pop-up window will appear.
- Type the contact name, phone number, and your relation.
- Click “Save Contact”.
Android app
- Tap “Contacts”.
- Tap the “Add Contact” icon at the bottom right.
- Fill in name, mobile number, and relationship.
The person is added to your iPay contacts list immediately.
How do I invite people to iPay?
- Tap the “Contacts” icon at the right of the bottom panel.
- Tap “All” at the top far right.
- Tap “Invite to iPay” next to a contact.
Who is an introducer?
An introducer is a verified iPay member who knows you in person and verifies you as an authentic iPay user.
Who can I ask for an introduction?
- Tap “Contacts” from the app bottom panel.
- Tap “Ask Introduction” next to the contact's name.
Who should I introduce and verify on iPay?
Verify people you know personally and who you are confident will not engage in fraudulent activity.
I do not know any iPay account users. How can I find an introducer?
There is no issue if you don't know any existing iPay users. There are several ways to find an introducer.
- Add your phone contacts to iPay and check whether anyone is already an iPay user.
- Sync your phone contact list with the app to see if any of them have a verified iPay account.
How do I remove or delete contacts?
- Tap the “Contacts” icon at the right of the bottom panel.
- Press and hold on the contact you want to remove.
- A “Delete contact” dialog will appear.
- Tap “Yes”.
Stay on top of updates and clean up your notification list.
Notifications
How do I see the latest updates from the app?
The notification bell icon is on the left of your profile picture on the main interface of the app.
How do I delete notifications?
- On the notification list, press and hold the notification panel.
- Tap “Yes” when prompted “Do you want to delete this notification permanently?”.
Get help with payments, missing notifications, and disputes.

What should I do if I cannot complete a payment?
